A virtual assistant is essentially self-employed and produces administrative, technical or inventive professional assistance to clients remotely from the comfort of their own home. Duties are:

Customer service

Data Entry

Social media management

Podcast management

Media creation

Website developer

Writer/Editor

Etc...

You don't need a degree to become a virtual assistant. You can learn through experienced VAs by taking their courses, youtube, sites like skillshare to perfect your craft, then create an awesome portfolio and network to get started on gaining your clients.
